The Florida Panthers signed two veterans for the first day of free agency on Sunday. They picked up defenseman Filip Kuba from the Ottawa Senators and right wing George Parros from the Anaheim Ducks with two-year deals.
Kuba returned to the Panthers after playing his first two seasons with the team from 1998-99 to 1999-2000 and had seven points in 18 games. He has also played for the Minnesota Wild and Tampa Bay Lightning. Kuba was a first-line defenseman in Ottawa last season with 26 assists and 32 points during 73 games.
Parros has played the last six seasons with the Anaheim Ducks and was more known for his physical play and fighting. He had one goal in 46 games in 2011-12. He had played for the Los Angeles Kings and Colorado Avalanche. Parros won a Stanley Cup title with the Ducks in 2006-07.
