Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM let go Michael Irvin from his midday show last week. He will continue his role as a studio analyst for the NFL Network in Los Angeles. Irvin joined WQAM in late July 2010 as midday host with Kevin Kiley as his sidekick. Curtis Stevenson replaced Kiley when he left for a morning sports show in Cleveland in August 2011. The Michael Irvin Show was moved from the noon to 3 p.m. spot to two hours earlier in the first week of January as WQAM added the Kup and Goldie Show with Adam Kuperstein and Steve Goldstein.
Irvin had done previous radio work as a midday co-host for KESN-FM ESPN 103.3 in Dallas. He also was once an NFL studio analyst for ESPN and a studio analyst/panelist on The Best Damn Sports Show Period at Fox Sports Net.
Stevenson replaces Irvin as the new midday host at WQAM. He hosted a weekday show at the station from February 2010 to August 2010. This included an afternoon show with Anita Marks before being switched to host middays by himself. Stevenson was the producer for the afternoon show with Jim Mandich, aka Mad Dog, until he left the station due to health reasons at the end of January 2010.
