Marlins Squeeze By Nationals

    The Miami Marlins were able to hang on to a 2-1 victory over the Washington Nationals at Marlins Park on Saturday night. Marc Buehrle(9-8) went seven innings for the Fish and gave up one run on six hits. Gio Gonzalez, who has been the ace of the Nats pitching staff this season, dropped to 12-4 as he allowed two runs on five hits in six innings and struck out nine batters.
    Miami took the early lead in the fourth inning. Jose Reyes led off with a single to center field and advanced to second on a sacrifice by Omar Infante. Carlos Lee knocked Reyes in on an RBI-single to right center for a 1-0 lead.
    Washington quickly came back to tie the game in the fifth inning. Ian Desmond got to first on a bunt single and then stole second. Tyler Moore would then walk. Jesus Flores hit a ball into shallow left field to score Desmond.
    The Marlins played small-ball to regain the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Emilio Bonifacio picked up a bunt single and went to second on a sacrifice by Donovan Solano. Bonifacio scored on an RBI-single by John Buck to right-center field.
    Steve Cishek got his second save this year as came in during the eighth inning and pulled off a five-out save for the Marlins. The Nationals left Roger Bernadina on second base with two outs in the ninth inning.
