The Miami Heat remained undefeated at home during the 2014 NBA playoffs with a 102-90 victory over the Indiana Pacers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals on Monday night at American Airlines Arena. The Heat are one win away from their fourth consecutive Eastern Conference championship. It has not been done since the Boston Celtics from 1984 until 1987.
LeBron James compiled game-highs in three categories for the Heat with 32 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in 36 minutes. Chris Bosh put together 25 points with six rebounds and Dwyane Wade knocked in 15 points.
For the first time in the series, Indiana had less than four of their starters in double-digit scoring. Paul George had a team-high 23 points along with seven rebounds while David West was able to get a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. George Hill drained through 15 points and Luis Scola scored 12.
Miami was ahead in the game from the start until the finish. In the first quarter, they exploded out with a 10-2 edge and finished the period up 27-19. The Heat led by at least four points during the entire second quarter as Indiana trailed 49-44 at halftime.
The Pacers were outscored in the third quarter 31-20 in the third and fell more behind 80-64. Miami extended their margin to 23 points with 7:41 left in the fourth at 94-71. Indiana got no closer than nine points from the lead at 99-90 with 1:29 remaining.
