Former local radio sports host Marc Benarzyk is no longer with WFNZ-AM in Charlotte. He will join Carl Dukes as an afternoon co-host at WZGC-FM in Atlanta as of June 2. Benarzyk had been an afternoon co-host with Taylor Zanzour at WFNZ since early 2011 under the name Marc James. Zanzour left the program last December to join SiriusXM Radio for his own show and Benarzyk had hosted solo since.
Benarzyk was a sports host on 1400 The Fan WFLL-AM from April 2004 until May 2006. In his reign he began as a midday host and was shifted to afternoon drive following short stints by Dino Costa and then by Bob Page. He became the morning show host in early 2006 until the station flipped from a sports talk format in May 2006.
Prior to his arrival in South Florida, he worked in several on-air host positions in Springfield, Massachusetts. After his work at 1400 The Fan, he joined Jim Grieshaber and co-hosted a nationally syndicated afternoon show on Sports Byline USA in 2006. He also worked for a short time as an afternoon co-host on Sirius Radio.
His next stop was at WHBQ-AM in Memphis as a midday co-host. He then moved in April 2008 to Tampa where he worked at WHBO-AM as an afternoon host until August 2010.
