The Miami Heat still remained undefeated in the NBA playoffs with a 94-82 win over the Brooklyn Nets in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinal on Thursday night at American Airlines Arena. The Heat won all six of their postseason games and lead the best-of-seven series 2-0. The Nets, who are now 1-10 all-time against the Heat in the NBA playoffs, will host the next two games in Brooklyn with Game 3 on Saturday night.
Both clubs stayed close to each other as neither team led by more than three points in the opening quarter until the final two seconds when Brooklyn got a three-pointer from Mirza Teletovic to make it 21-15. The Nets got up 39-32 with 4:18 left in the second until the Heat scored seven straight points to tie the game. Miami ended up being down at halftime 46-45.
In the third quarter, neither squads held more than a three-point lead in the period as the Heat were ahead 69-67 at the end of the stanza. Miami began to excel away with an 8-0 spurt to get their first double-digit margin at 87-77 with 3:50 remaining. Brooklyn was outscored 25-15 in the fourth quarter.
LeBron James had a game-high 22 points in 39 minutes for the Heat. Chris Bosh contributed 18 points and six rebounds while Dwyane Wade added 14 points along with seven rebounds and seven rebounds. Ray Allen came off the bench for 13 points and eight rebounds in 28 minutes.
Nets reserve Teletovic shot great from outside range as he had 20 points in 26 minutes. Shaun Livingston put up 15 points while Joe Johnson and Paul Pierce both scored 13. Kevin Garnett compiled four points with a game-high 12 rebounds.
