Marlins Shut Out Giants

Marlins starting pitcher Tom Koehler went seven shutout innings and allowed two hits as the Marlins blanked the San Francisco Giants 2-0 on Tuesday night at Marlins Park. Both teams showed up following a five-hour, 30 minute game the previous night that lasted 14 innings and combined for just seven hits tonight.
Miami(60-53) scored the only runs of the contest during the first inning against San Francisco(64-49) starting pitcher Matt Moore. Dee Gordon led off with a walk for the Marlins and advanced to second on a Martin Prado base hit into left-center field.
Two batters later, Giancarlo Stanton smacked a one-out double to deep left field which brought Gordon home and Prado to third base. Marcell Ozuna knocked in Prado as he grounded out to short and made it 2-0.
