The Fort Lauderdale Strikers tied the Jacksonville Armada FC 1-1 on Wednesday night in a Coastal Cup game at Community First Park. The Strikers will play their first home game ever in the new facility Central Broward Stadium on Saturday night. The club had made Lockhart Stadium their home field from 1977 until late last month.
Fort Lauderdale(2-5-2) stopped a streak of eight consecutive games in all competitions without scoring in the first half. Jose Angulo was able to put home a goal during the 20th minute. Jacksonville(2-5-3) pulled even at 1-1 in the 41st minute as Zach Steinberger scored.
