Former Broward County high school football player Isaac Bruce was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday. He was a finalist on the ballot for the fourth time.
Bruce, a Fort Lauderdale native, played with the Dillard Panthers. He led them during his senior year to their last state football championship when they captured the FHSAA Class 4A state title in 1989. Bruce had 39 catches for 644 receiving yards that season.
He played with the Rams in Los Angeles and St. Louis for 14 seasons. Bruce helped them win Super Bowl XXXIV over the Tennessee Titans. He had 1,024 pass receptions for 15,435 receiving yards and 91 touchdowns in his 16-year NFL career.
