The Miami Marlins are expected to sign infielder/outfielder Sean Rodriguez to a minor-league contract. He will be invited to spring training camp in Jupiter to make the major league squad.
Rodriguez is a Miami native and played high school baseball with Coral Park and Braddock. He has been in the majors for 13 seasons. Rodriguez had stints with the Los Angeles Angels, Tampa Bay Rays, Pittsburgh Pirates and Philadelphia Phillies. Rodriguez had four home runs, 12 runs batted in and a .223 batting average in 76 games played last season with the Phillies.
