It was national signing day in Broward County on Wednesday. Some players made their decisions where they will play college football.
At least nine St. Thomas Aquinas players from the FHSAA Class 7A state champions decided on early national signing day on December 18. Around 20 other Raiders waited until today to sign.
One-time Dwyer and current STA cornerback Colby Dempsey selected UAB while tight end Jake Ray choose Arizona State. Other players included running back Jaedon Henry(Colgate), defensive lineman Landon Grier(South Carolina), offensive lineman Nathaniel Alperi(FAU), defensive back Blaine Anderson(Colgate), defensive back Damian Anderson(Yale), linebacker Andres Garcia(Central Florida), offensive lineman Kyle Gilliand(Stetson), offensive lineman Derrick Gordon(FAU), tight end Joseph Kirner(Wagner), Denorio Humes(Liberty), defensive lineman Griffin Lampton(Vanderbilt), linebacker Dontae Lunan(Bryant), defensive back Tyler MacKay(Mercer), defensive lineman Jamari Maybin(Bethune Cookman), offensive lineman Alonzo Missick(Florida Memorial), offensive lineman Jahmari Sylvester(FIU), offensive lineman Matthew Taylor(Boston College) and defensive lineman Riyad Wilmot(Maryland).
Chaminade-Madonna, the three-time defending FHSAA Class 3A state champions, had a bunch of player head to college. Among the Lions were defensive end Claude Laukins Jr.(North Carolina State), defensive back Quadric Bullard(Central Florida), offensive lineman Jai'Mari Herbert(Tennessee State), wide receiver Rony Bourdeau(Notre Dame College), wide receiver Donovan Desir(St. Thomas), offensive lineman Jeremiah Mawali(Tennessee State), offensive lineman Joseph Habinowski(Ohio) and cornerback Benjamin Onwuzo(Florida A&M).
Cardinal Gibbons, the 2018 FHSAA Class 5A state champs, had running back Coleman Bennett(Bucknell). University School offensive lineman Hunter Zambrano selected Illinois State.
Coconut Creek defensive lineman Chris Jones decided to stay local at Florida Atlantic and Douglas offensive lineman Gage Gaynor goes across the country to Colorado State and Dillard wide receiver Raphael Williams choose Tusculum. Monarch wide receiver Brady Brauner and Douglas defensive end lands at Florida Tech.
St. Thomas got several people from Broward County which included Western offensive lineman Jack Thibodeau and Cooper City linebacker Matthew McCausland.
