The Miami Marlins will sign relief pitcher Brad Boxberger to a contract. It is a minor-league deal and Boxberger looks to make the Miami Marlins roster at spring training camp in Jupiter.
Boxberger has been in the majors for eight seasons and made 320 relief appearances. He participated with the San Diego Padres, Tampa Bay Rays, Arizona Diamonbacks and Kansas City Royals.
He was with the Royals during the 2019 season. Boxberger had a 1-3 record, 5.40 earned-runs-average and 27 strikeouts in 26 2/3 innings.
