Miami moved out to a 25-12 lead in the first eight minutes of the contest, however Los Angeles went on a 19-3 spurt and led 31-28 after one quarter. The Lakers pulled off an 24-5 run at the end of the second quarter and had a 65-48 advantage at halftime.
Los Angeles outscored the Heat 18-6 to begin the second half and had a 29-point margin with 7:15 left in the third quarter. Miami trailed 93-67 at the end of the third quarter. The closest the Heat came to the Lakers in the final quarter was 109-96 with 2:31 remaining.
Jimmy Butler led the Heat with a team-high 23 points and Kendrick Nunn contributed 18 points. Tyler Herro added 14 points while Jae Crowder dropped in 12 points.
Former Heat player LeBron James fell short of a triple-double with 25 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists for the Lakers. Anthony Davis compiled a game-high 34 points along with nine rebounds while Danny Green drained in 11 points.
