Bishop Verot Scrambles American Heritage

The Bishop Verot Vikings made the long trip from Fort Myers and shut down the American Heritage Stallions 19-0 at The Corral in Delray Beach on Friday night. It was the Stallions first game under their former defensive coordinator and new head coach Brian Sheridan. Both teams look to contend for the FHSAA playoffs later this season.
Bishop Verot(1-1) drew first blood with 1:37 left in the first quarter. Deaglon Camron was able to kick a 23-yard field goal.
The Vikings expanded their lead to 10-0 at the 7:59 mark of the second quarter. Wide receiver Malik Curtis ran the ball into the end zone from 11 yards away.
It would not be fine for American Heritage(0-1) in the second half. The Vikings picked up a safety when linebacker Austin Redd sacked quarterback Dylan Rizk with 3:12 remaining in the third quarter and led 12-0.
Bishop Verot added another score with 6:19 left in the final quarter for a 19-0 lead. Quarterback Jacob Azizi sprinted down the field on a 71-yard touchdown run.
