Marlins Jump By Cubs In Game 1

The Miami Marlins came back against the Chicago Cubs 5-1 in Game 1 of the National League Wild Card Series at Wrigley Field on Wednesday. The Marlins lead the best-of-three series 1-0. Game 2 will be played on Thursday in Chicago.
The Marlins played in their first postseason game since 2003 and have neve lost a playoff series in franchise history. The Game 1 contest was only the second time in baseball history that a National League playoff game used a designated hitter in a lineup. The Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves used a designated hitter in a game earlier today.
Chicago broke the scoreless tie during the fifth inning. Ian Happ connected with a solo home run to left-center field on a 1-2 count.
Miami overtook the Cubs in the top of the seventh. Corey Dickenson smacked a three-run homer to left-center field on the first pitch with Miguel Rojas and Chad Wallach aboard. Two batters later, Jesus Aguilar sliced a two-run homer to right field on a 1-2 pitch. Brian Anderson was able to score in front of him to make it 5-1.
