Champagnat Catholic At Chaminade-Madonna Preview

The Champagnat Catholic challenge the Chaminade-Madonna Lions at Vince Zappone Field in Hollywood on Friday night. It will be the first contest of regular season to be played in Broward County. The regular season had been pushed back throughout South Florida in 2020 due to coronavirus concerns.
Champagnat Catholic are the defending FHSAA Class 2A state champions and handled Victory Christian Academy in the 2019 state title contest. They have reached the state title game for four consecutive years and took the state championship in two of the past three seasons.
Chaminade-Madonna enters the game as the defending three-time FHSAA Class 3A state champions and most of their players on the team roster have captured a state title. The main emphasis on their offense will be running back Thaddius Franklin. He set FHSAA state title game records of 47 carries for 333 rushing yards against Florida State University High in Tallahassee last December. Franklin will get the majority of rushes for the Lions and can reach the end zone on any running play.
