Nationals Shut Out Marlins

The Washington Nationals blanked the Miami Marlins 5-0 in a seven-inning contest. It was the first game of a doubleheader between both clubs and the start of a five-game weekend series.
Washington(19-29) put up two runs in the top of the second. Luis Garcia knocked in Yan Gomes with a double into center field. Carter Kieboom followed with a base hit into right field and Garcia crossed the plate.
In the fourth inning, Miami(25-24) surrendered two more runs. Andrew Stevenson drove in Gomes and Garcia with a single to right. Victor Robles came up and singled into left field to score Kieboom.
