Marlins Sweep Doubleheader From Phillies

The Miami Marlins completed a sweep of a doubleheader with an 8-1 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies at Marlins Park on Sunday. The Marlins jumped over the Phillies for second place in the National League East. Both clubs look to reach the National League postseason.
Miami(23-21) jumped out with three runs during the first innings. Jesus Aguilar drove in Corey Dickerson with a single into right field. Matt Joyce came up and singled to left for Starling Marte to score. Brian Anderson then got a base hit into right and Aguilar crossed the plate.
Philadelphia(23-22) got their only run of the contest in the top of the second. Alec Bohm pounded a solo home run over the center-field fence on a 2-2 pitch.
After the Marlins picked up one run in the bottom of the third on an Aguilar double, they expanded their lead to 8-1 with four runs in the sixth inning. Miguel Rojas hit a two-run double into left field which scored Garrett Cooper and Jazz Chisholm. Chad Wallach followed with a two-run homer to center on a 1-0 count with Rojas aboard.
