Derek Jeter Leaves Miami Marlins

Miami Marlins chief executive officer Derek Jeter has left the organization. He also relinquished his ownership stake of around four percent. Marlins chairman and principal owner Bruce Sherman issued a statement this morning.
Jeter joined the Marlins in October 2017 along with Sherman and other investors when they purchased the club from Jeffrey Loria. Jeter continues to have a business interest in The Players Tribune.
He played shortstop for the New York Yankees for 20 seasons from 1995 until 2014. Jeter helped the team win five World Series titles in 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2009. He contributed to the team winning seven American League championships. Jeter was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2020.
