WQAM Internet Stream Garners Audience

Audacy recently implemented internet streaming AM 560 Sports WQAM-AM under the radio ratings. The corporation had done it for several years as Entercom at other sports talk format stations in the United States which included WFAN-FM in New York, WSCR-AM in Chicago, WEEI-FM in Boston and KGMZ-FM in San Francisco.
The WQAM internet stream had a 0.1 in December and a 0.2 in the holiday period. It rose to a 0.5 in the month of January. It was a higher number than their two Miami competitors of Sports Talk 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM and Fox Sports 940 WINZ-AM. Both those two radio stations in January had a 0.4 combined. 560 WQAM had a 1.1 radio rating during the month of January without the streaming.
A possible reason is the amount of local programming. WQAM has local weekday programming from 6AM to 6PM since late October. Their programs include the Joe Rose Show with Zach Krantz in the morning shift, Jonathan Zaslow in middays and the afternoon show with Marc Hochman and Channing Crowder. The only local show on The Ticket not simulcasted is their morning program with Brendan Tobin and Leroy Hoard. WINZ has not had local programming since they released Jeff DeForrest along with The Greek last September.
