Heat Outlast Hornets

     The Miami Heat defeated the Charlotte Hornets 111-107 in double overtime at Spectrum Center on Thursday night. It was the final game for the Heat and Hornets prior to the NBA All-Star Game break. 
     Miami(38-21) got out to a 37-30 lead at the end of the first quarter. Charlotte(29-31) dominated the second quarter with a 24-10 run to go up 54-47 at halftime. Both teams scored the same amount of points during the third quarter and the Hornets led 71-64. The Heat came back from 11 points down with 5:08 left in the fourth as they went on a 16-5 run to tie it up 87-87 at the end the fourth quarter. 
     Charlotte had the opportunity to win the contest in overtime, however Montrezl Harrell missed the second of two free throws with 1.7 seconds remaining. The Heat went on a 7-2 spurt at the start of double overtime to get the win. 
     Kyle Lowry fell short of a double-double with a team-high 25 points and nine rebounds for the Heat. Duncan Robinson drained in 21 points. Three Miami players were able to contribute double-doubles. Bam Adebayo compiled 15 points and 13 rebounds, Jimmy Butler and P.J. Tucker both had 15 points and 10 rebounds each. 
     The Hornets were led by LaMelo Ball who had 14 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds for a triple-double. Miles Bridges ended up with a double-double with a game-high 29 points along with 11 rebounds. P.J. Washington had 15 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double in the loss.
