Hurricanes Survives Texas A&M

     The 10th seeded University of Miami Hurricanes escaped the seventh seeded Texas A&M Aggies 10-3 in the College Football Playoff first-round game on Saturday at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas. It was the Hurricanes first appearance in a CFP contest.
     Neither team scored during the first two quarters of play. The Canes came close to take the lead when Carter Davis missed a 40-yard field goal with no time remaining in the second.
      In the second half, Miami(11-2) got out to a 3-0 lead at the 10:34 mark of the third quarter. Davis booted a 21-yard field goal. 
      Texas A&M(11-2) evened it up 3-3 at 8:03 of the fourth quarter. Randy Bond was able to kick a 35-yard field goal.
      The Hurricanes regained the lead 10-3 with 1:49 left in the fourth. Malachi Toney rushed around the right end from 11 yards away. 
      The Aggies had a chance to tie the game on their final drive. Bryce Fitzgerald intercepted a Marcel Reed pass in the back of the end zone with 24 seconds remaining.
