Henderson Alvarez Pitches No-Hitter

    Henderson Alvarez pitched the fifth no-hitter in Marlins franchise history on Sunday as Miami beat the Detroit Tigers 1-0 at Marlins Park. The Fish scored the game-winning run in the ninth inning on a walk-off wild pitch. Al Leiter, Kevin Brown, A.J. Burnett and Anibal Sanchez had thrown the previous no-hitters in Marlins history.
    Miami swept Detroit(93-69) in the three-game series and finished the 2013 season with a record of 62-100. The Fish, who won five of their last games, ended up 36-45 at home this year.
    Luke Putkonen was of the mound for Tigers in the bottom of the ninth inning, After Justin Ruggiano grounded out to short, Giancarlo Stanton and Logan Morrison both singled into center field. They both advanced one base on a wild pitch by Putkonen. Adeiny Hechavarria grounded out and Chris Coghlan walked to load the bases with two outs. Greg Dobbs pinched-hit for Koyie Hill then Stanton scored the walk-off winning run on a wild pitch by Putkonen on the first throw to the plate.
