The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders and the Miramar Patriots will face each other on Friday night in Fort Lauderdale at Brian Piccolo Stadium. The Patriots have won the last two meetings between the schools which included an overtime win two years ago on the same field.
St. Thomas Aquinas enters the game with a 2-0 record. Following a kickoff classic win at home against the Dillard Panthers 21-10, they blasted the Northwestern Bulls 38-3 at Sun Life Stadium in their first regular season game and then defeated the defending national champions John Curtis of Louisiana 27-13 at the Superdome last week. Look for quarterback Wade Freebeck to hand the ball off to running back Mardre London and throw to wide receiver Devante Peete downfield.
Miramar comes into this game with a record of 3-0. They cruised to easy victories in their first two weeks as they won on the road 42-7 against the South Plantation Paladins and crushed the Northeast Hurricanes at home with a 57-0 shutout. They got by the Plantation Colonels 28-14 last week at home. Running back Eric Pittman will get the bulk of carries for the Patriots and quarterback Nick Jeanty will create things on offense.
