The Florida Panthers have signed goalie Tim Thomas to a professional tryout offer. He did not play at all during the 2012-13 season. Thomas was traded by the Boston Bruins to New York Islanders last season.
Thomas captured the Stanley Cup in 2011 as the starting goalie with the Bruins and won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff most valuable player. He played his entire NHL career with the B's and made his debut during the 2002-03 season. He has played in 378 games and a career record of 191-121-45 along with a 2.48 goals against average in eight NHL seasons.
