The Miami Marlins announced Sunday prior to their home game with the Detroit Tigers that Michael Hill has been promoted from vice president and general manager to president of baseball operations while Dan Jennings has been named general manager. Jennings was upped from the assistant general manager and director of player personnel positions. Larry Beinfest was let go by the club as president of baseball operations on Friday afternoon.
Hill has been the Marlins vice president and general manager with the team since September 2007. He served with the club as assistant general manager prior to that.
