The Boynton Beach Tigers surprised the Deerfield Beach Bucks with a 6-3 victory in a two-quarter game at the Palm Beach Lakes Jamboree on Friday night. The Tigers ended up as the district runner-up in a three-way tiebreaker contest last year and lost in the first round.
Deerfield Beach got the advantage in the first quarter as Liden Rivera connected with a 24-yard field goal for a Bucks 3-0 lead.
The second quarter ended up being a different story. The Bucks had their first drive end quickly as a pass to the right side was picked off by Boynton Beach linebacker Abraham Beauplan and he returned it 30 yards for a score. The Tigers two-point conversion failed on a bad snap from center and they held a 6-3 margin.
