Former South Florida sports radio host Marc James has joined NESN as a sports anchor and reporter. He had previously worked in several different markets in radio as a sports host. He worked on-air positions in Springfield, Massachusetts before moving to South Florida.
James was known as Marc Benarzyk while he worked at 1400 The Fan WFLL-AM in Fort Lauderdale from April 2004 until May 2006. He began as a midday host, moved to the afternoon shift and then settled in the morning spot in early 2006.
He co-hosted a nationally syndicated show on Sports Byline USA with Jim Grieshaber and co-hosted an afternoon sports show on Sirius Radio. James then landed at WHBQ-AM in Memphis as a midday co-host.
James moved on to Tampa in April 2008 where he hosted an afternoon show on WHBO-AM until August 2010. In early 2011, he joined WFNZ-AM in Charlotte and co-hosted the afternoon show with Taylor Zanzour. James went solo with the show, after Zanzour left for Sirius XM Radio, from December 2013 to May 2014.
He then appeared on WZGC-FM in Atlanta where he started as the afternoon co-host in June 2014. James was later elevated to morning host and held that position until September 2015.
