The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Miami Marlins 7-2 at Dodger Stadium on Friday night. The Fish have lost five straight and 19 of their 23 games.
Los Angeles(25-18) pulled ahead 1-0 in the first inning. Austin Barnes grounded out to first for Corey Seager to cross the plate.
The Dodgers added two more runs in the bottom of the third. Chris Taylor whacked a solo home run to right field on a 2-0 pitch. Kike Hernandez later knocked in Seager with a base hit into center field.
The Marlins fell behind 5-0 in the fourth inning. Brett Eibner ripped a two-run homer to center on the first pitch and Yasiel Puig scored in front of him. Cody Bellinger also hit a two-run home run to center field in the bottom of the eighth inning with Barnes scoring on the play.
Miami(14-27) eventually broke the shutout during their final opportunity in the top of the ninth. Justin Boar blasted a solo home run to right field on a 2-1 pitch. J.T. Realmuto later scored on a sacrifice fly by J.T. Riddle to center.
