The Phillies made it 2-0 in the sixth inning. Rhys Hoskins blasted a solo home run to left-center field on a 1-1 pitch for his 17th homer of the season.
Miami(33-45) surrendered two runs in the bottom of the seventh and trailed 4-0. Odubel Herrera connected with a double off the right-center wall for Brad Miller to score. Herrera later scored on a wild pitch.
The Marlins prevented the shutout during the eighth inning. They had the bases loaded when Jon Berti crossed the plate on a wild pitch.
The Fish got a rally in the top of the ninth, but they fell short. After Jesus Aguilar singled up the middle, Adam Duvall came up a lifted a two-run homer over the center-field wall on a 1-1 count and they were down 4-3. It was the 17th home run of the year for Duvall.
