Yandle may not hold the NHL consecutive games streak long. Phil Kessel of the Arizona Coyotes is currently second all-time with 967 consecutive games and could break it early next season.

Panthers Come Back On Devils

Yegor Sharangovich compiled a hat trick as the Florida Panthers overcame the New Jersey 7-6 in overtime on Saturday at Prudential Center. The Devils picked up a 7-3 victory over the Panthers in the same arena back in November.
The Panthers reached the 100-point mark for just the second time ever. They ended up with 103 points back in 2015-16.
Florida had four different defensemen score in one game for the first time in franchise history. The Cats visit the Buffalo Sabres on Sunday.
It was the Devils first hat trick since Blake Coleman accomplished it against the Toronto Maple Leafs on January 14, 2020. Andrew Hammond made his team debut with the Devils in net.
New Jersey(24-38-6) rushed out with two goals in a 17-second span. Dougie Hamilton got to a loose puck on the right point and released a forehand shot. Sharangovich made it 1-0 at the 3:25 mark as he scored from the top of the crease for his 17th goal this season.
Gustav Forsling turned the puck over in his own left corner. Jack Hughes skated to the low slot and put the puck in from close range past Sergei Bobrovsky at 3:42 for his 26th goal of the season. It was the fastest time span that the Devils have scored two goals in 2021-22.
Florida(47-15-6) closed it to 2-1 at 9:02. Ben Chiarot collected his first goal with the Florida Panthers and eighth tally of the campaign. He snapped a shot from the high left circle by Andrew Hammond. Anton Lundell and Sam Reinhart were credited with assists on the play. The Cats were held to just five shot during the first frame.
The Devils increased it to 3-1 at the two-minute mark of the second period. Chariot tried to clear it out and it was stopped by Dawson Mercer on the right wing. He forwarded it to the low right circle and
Sharangovich took a wrist shot for his second goal of the contest.
It became a three-game margin for New Jersey just 45 seconds later. Ty Smith kept the puck in the offensive zone at the blue line. Andreas Johnsson angled it from the high slot and Janne Kuokkenen switched to a backhand shot at the top of the crease for his sixth goal of the year.
The Panthers cut it down to 4-2 with 8:43 left in the second. Radko Gudas fired a snap shot from the inner left circle and put in the follow-up rebound from the crease for his second tally goal this season. Brandon Montour got the only assist on the play.
New Jersey expanded it to 5-2 with 5:16 remaining on a shorthanded goal. Nico Hischier backhanded it out of the Devils zone. Sharangovich picked the puck up in the high slot on a breakaway and lifted a backhand shot for his 19th tally of the season.
The Devils made it 6-2 with 3:52 left in the frame when Johnsson scored on a wrist shot from the slot area. It was Johnsson first goal since January 31 against Toronto.
In the third period, Florida trailed 6-3 at the 5:34 mark as Montour blasted a slap shot from the right point for his ninth goal. The Panthers cut the deficit to 6-4 at 7:04 on a snap shot by Forsling from the left circle. It was the fourth goal of the contest by a Panthers defenseman.
They pulled Spencer Knight from the net for an extra attacker. Sam Bennett made a pass from the right goal line and Aleksander Barkov powered in a shot from the low right circle with 4:47 left.
The Panthers had the same situation again and tied it up 6-6 with 1:24 remaining. Jonathan Huberdeau pushed the puck from the top left circle to MacKenzie Weegar on top. He angled a pass to the right circle and Barkov one-timed a slap shot for his second goal of the game and 33rd goal of the season.
Florida pulled off the comeback in overtime at 1:45. Bennett dropped a pass at the top of the Devils zone. Forsling cut to the middle and ripped a wrist shot from the high slot for his second tally of the contest and fifth goal of the campaign.
