FAU basketball swept rival FIU in the final two games of the regular season before being eliminated during the quarterfinals of the Conference USA Tournament.

The Major League Baseball lockout ended in the middle of March and the Marlins began spring training in Jupiter. The University of Florida Gators basketball team was eliminated early in the SEC Tournament and the NIT Tournament.
