Marlins Sweep Nationals

The Miami Marlins slipped by the Washington Nationals 3-2 at Nationals Park on Thursday. The Marlins pulled off their first three-game sweep in Washington for the first time since July 2011. The Marlins have a five-game winning streak and return home Friday against the Seattle Mariners.
Washington(6-15) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Josh Bell doubled to right field and Cesar Hernandez scored.
Miami(10-8) tied it up 1-1 in the top of the third. Jon Berti hit a double to the center-field warning track and Miguel Rojas crossed the plate.
The Marlins leaped to the lead 3-1 in the top of the seventh. Jesus Sanchez singled through the right side for Brian Anderson to reach home. Rojas later scored in the frame on a wild pitch.
The Nationals made it 3-2 during the eighth inning. Hernanadez knocked in Victor Robles with a double off the base of the left-field wall.
