Marlins Wallop Phillies

The Miami Marlins jumped on the Philadelphia Phillies 7-1 on Friday night at loanDepot park. The Marlins have won their first two contests in the seven-game homestand and are now longer on the bottom of the National League East.
It was the 75th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier in Major League Baseball on April 15, 1947. Both teams wore jerseys with uniform number 42 on them for today's game on Jackie Robinson Day. It also marked the 25th anniversary that MLB permanently retired Robinson's number to never be worn again except on April 15.
Miami(3-4) picked up two runs in the first inning. Jesus Sanchez knocked in Jorge Soler on a double into right field. Jesus Aguilar followed with an RBI-single to center field and Sanchez crossed the plate.
It became 4-0 for the Marlins in the bottom of the second. Jazz Chisholm Jr. tripled into the right-field corner which brought in Jacob Stallings and Miguel Rojas.
The Fish increased it to a six-run margin in the fifth inning. Garrett Cooper scored on a triple by Sanchez down the right-field line. Aguilar came up next and drove in Sanchez on a sacrifice fly to right.
Aguilar collected his third RBI of the game in the bottom of the sixth. His sacrifice fly into left got Chisholm to reach home and made it 7-0.
Philadelphia(3-5) had to wait until the eighth inning to finally get on the scoreboard. Nick Castellanos blasted a solo home run barely over the right-field fence on a 1-2 pitch for his second homer of the season.
