Panthers Speed By Red Wings

The Florida Panthers flew by the Detroit Red Wings 6-1 at Little Caesars Arena on Sunday. Florida expanded their winning streak up to 10 games. Jonathan Huberdeau had his 13-game point streak snapped by the Red Wings.
The Cats made their first appearance on an ESPN game broadcast this season. It was the Panthers first time on their primary channel since the early 2000s.
After a scoreless first period, Florida(54-15-6) took a 1-0 lead at the 5:02 mark of the second. Brandon Montour angled a pass at the red line to Aleksander Barkov. He carried it into the offensive zone and made a cross-ice pass from the left wing. Anthony Duclair blasted a one-time slap shot from the right circle by Alex Nedeljkovic for his 31st goal of the season.
The Panthers extended it to 2-0 at 6:32. Petteri Lindbohm backhanded a lead pass from his own zone. Mason Marchment centered the puck from the right wing with a backhand pass and Sam Reinhart fired a forehand shot from the slot area for his 28th goal this season.
It became 3-0 for the Cats with 5:37 remaining in the frame. Reinhart stole the puck and fed it to the middle. Anton Lundell scored his 17th goal of the campaign from the low slot.
Florida made it 4-0 just 28 seconds later. Patric Hornqvist forwarded the puck through the neutral zone. Eetu Luostarinen flipped a backhand pass from the right wing and Maxim Mamin placed in a shot from close range for his seventh goal of the year.
Detroit(29-37-10) surrendered a shorthanded goal at 5:04 of the third period and trailed 5-0. Barkov skated with the puck from the red line to the top of the crease. He made a drop pass and Lundell scored on a backhand shot for his second tally of the contest.
The Red Wings broke the shutout and got on the scoreboard with 7:56 to go. Pius Suter was able to beat Spencer Knight on a shot.
The Panthers reclaimed a five-goal margin with 6:46 left in the third. Gustav Forsling scored his ninth goal this season and his third goal in the last two contests.
