Miguel Cabrera Gets 3,000th Hit

Former Marlins player Miguel Cabrera collected his 3,000th career base hit on Saturday when the Detroit Tigers faced the Colorado Rockies. He became the 33rd player in Major League Baseball to reach that mark.
He got a single to right field in his first at-bat of the contest during the top of the first as the Tigers shut out the Rockies 13-0 at Coors Field.  Ichiro Suzuki also picked up his 3,000th hit while with the Marlins versus the Colorado Rockies in Denver on August 7, 2016.
Cabrera also became the seventh player in Major League Baseball history to have at least 500 home runs and 3,000 base hits. He joined Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Albert Pujols, Alex Rodriguez, Eddie Murray and Rafael Palmiero.
He played for the Miami Marlins in his first five seasons from 2003 until 2007. Cabrera helped them win their second World Series title in 2003 during his rookie year. He was traded with Dontrelle Willis to the Detroit Tigers in an eight-player trade on December 5, 2007.
