Marlins Avoid Sweep

    The Miami Marlins finished an 11-game road trip with a 6-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday at Dodgers Stadium. Mark Buerhle(12-11) took the win for the Marlins as he went 5 2/3 innings and allowed one run on six hits. Aaron Harang fell to 9-8 for LA and gave up three runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings. 
    With one out in the first inning for the Dodgers, Nick Punto walked and Matt Kemp singled to right field. Adrian Gonzalez singled into left field to bring in Punto for a Dodgers 1-0 lead.
    Giancarlo Stanton of the Marlins blasted a two-out solo home run off Harang on the first pitch to straight center field in the fourth inning. It was his eighth homer of the road trip and his 29th of the season.
    Miami increased their lead in the fifth inning. Donovan Solano led off with a single to right field and Rob Brantly followed with his first major league home run on the first pitch to right-center field for a Marlins 3-1 lead.
    Los Angeles closed the deficit against Mike Dunn in the seventh inning. Kemp led off with a walk and advanced to third on a single by Gonzalez to right field. After Hanley Ramirez struck out, Andre Ethier knocked in Kemp on a single into left field.
    The Marlins had the bases loaded with one out in the top of the eighth inning. The Dodgers brought in former Marlin Randy Choate to relieve for Ronald Belisario. Hanley Ramirez committed a fielding error as he was unable to backhand the ball off the bat of Bryan Petersen as Greg Dobbs scored on the play.
    The Fish exploded with back-to-back home runs off Shawn Tolleson to begin the ninth inning. Jose Reyes cracked a solo shot to right field on a 0-2 count for his 11th homer followed by a solo home run by Carlos Lee to left-center field on a 1-1 pitch to make it 6-2.
