The Anaheim Ducks dropped the Florida Panthers 3-2 at BB&T Center on Wednesday night. Both clubs are celebrating their 25th anniversary seasons in the National Hockey League. It was the third game of an eight-game home stand for the Panthers.

In the second period, Florida(9-10-4) was able to even it up 1-1 at the 3:01 mark. Aleksander Barkov received the puck back from Jonathan Huberdeau behind the Ducks cage. His forehand pass went to the low right circle where Aaron Ekblad lifted a one-time shot past John Gibson.
The Panthers scored on the power play to take their first lead of the contest at 9:23. Huberdeau took a slapshot from the high slot and it was redirected in by Evgenii Dadonov in the low slot. Keith Yandle was also credited with an assist on the play.
The Ducks did not stand by and answered back with 7:02 to go. Adam Henrique sent the puck back to the left point where Marcus Pettersson was. His slapshot was deflected in by Nick Ritchie on the edge of the left circle.
Anaheim broke the tie with 1:28 remaining in the third. There was a scramble for the puck around the Panthers net when Ryan Getzlaf gave the puck to Ritchie in the low slot and he scored on a wrist shot.
