The Palm Beach Lakes Rams go seven miles north on Military Trail and take on the Dwyer Panthers at Blum Stadium in a Class 7A regional semifinal on Friday night. The Panthers beat the Rams 41-13 on the same field during Week 4 in a district game.
Palm Beach Lakes(8-3) lost three of their first four games of the regular season to Pahokee, Dwyer and Trinity Christian Academy. The Rams have since stringed together seven straight victories and included a surprising 6-3 win over McArthur last week. They have outscored their opponents 229-50 in their last seven games.
Dwyer(10-1) ride into this contest with a nine-game winning streak following a loss to Atlantic in Week 2. The Panthers have outscored their opponents 459-79 this season. They have outscored their last seven opponents 323-22. Dwyer easily blanked West Broward 43-0 last week.
Panthers quarterback Gio Richardson will dictate the pace for their offense. Wide receiver Tanner Franklin played for Palm Beach Lakes last year and transferred to Dwyer during the summer. He along with wide receivers Reggie Gadsen, Jamari Gaines, Nick Bingo and Connor Nagle are expected to make pass receptions from Richardson. They have numerous options at running back which includes James Meeks, Ernest Blackshear, Cedric Tucker, Bobby Armes and Sataria Haliburton.
