Blanche Ely held a high school football spring jamboree at Richard L. Williams Stadium in Pompano Beach on Wednesday night. Some of the top high school football programs in South Florida participated in two-quarter games.
The Pahokee Blue Devils visited from The Muck and played in the first contest against the host school. The Blue Devils put up 28 points in the first quarter, however the Blanche Ely Tigers cut the deficit down to 28-20 to end the first contest.
The Blanche Ely McDougle Bowl rival the Deerfield Beach Bucks proved to be a contending FHSAA Class 8A team for the state championship in 2019. The Bucks blanked Pahokee 27-0 and then easily handled the Piper Bengals.
