The Plantation Colonels knocked off the Stranahan Dragons 21-0 in a two-quarter contest at West Palm Beach on Saturday. The Broward County schools played in the first game of the Palm Beach Lakes High School spring football jamboree on Saturday.
Plantation was able to score on their first possession. Quarterback Gerard Nesbitt connected a 21-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Jacolby George on the back left corner of the end zone at 7:57 of the first quarter.
It was the same combination again for the Colonels at the 2:41 mark of the first. Nesbitt threw a 15-yard pass to George on the left side of the end zone and they led 14-0.
In the second quarter, Plantation extended the gap to 21-0. Nesbitt busted up the middle from one yard away with 3:58 left.
Stranahan had a tough time in this contest. They ended a drive at the Colonels two-yard line during a fourth-down situation on the first play of the second. The Dragons also had a 70-yard touchdown pass negated due to a penalty with 3:42 to go in the second quarter.
