The Miami Marlins got by the San Francisco Giants 4-2 at Marlins Park on Wednesday night. Miami has won six of their last nine games.
The Marlins got the first run in the third inning. Starlin Castro hit a sacrifice fly to left field and Austin Dean scored.
San Francisco(21-33) responded and evened it up 1-1 during the top of the fourth. Brandon Belt cracked a solo home run to right-center field on a 2-1 pitch for his eighth homer of the season.
Miami(19-34) added two more runs in the seventh inning. Neil Walker doubled into shallow right field and Jorge Alfaro crossed the plate. Garrett Cooper later drove in Curtis Granderson with a sacrifice fly to right field.
The Fish made it 4-1 in the following frame. Harold Ramirez knocked in Castro on a base hit to right field.
Tbe Giants added a tally in the top of the ninth inning. Belt grounded into a fielder's choice to short for Buster Posey to score from third. Former Giants pitcher Sergio Romo picked up his 11th save of the year with the Marlins.
