George Young Pro Football Hall Of Fame

Former Miami Dolphins director of player personnel George Young has been elected to the Pro Football Hall Of Fame. The announcement was made Wednesday morning on NFL Network.
He will be part of the largest class going into that shrine later this year. There will be 20 new members due to the 100th anniversary of the National Football League.
Young was the Miami Dolphins director of player personnel from 1975 to 1978 alongside head coach Don Shula. He helped the Dolphins get to the playoffs in 1978 where they lost to the Houston Oilers in the first ever AFC wild card playoff game.
He then joined the New York Giants as their general manager in 1979. The Giants won two Super Bowl champions under his reign. New York upset the Denver Broncos 39-20 in Super Bowl XXI and edged the Buffalo Bills 20-19 in Super Bowl XXV. He left that organization in 1997 and became the National Football League senior vice president of football operations from 1998 to 2001.
Young was with the Baltimore Colts from 1968 until 1974 as a scout, offensive coach and director of player personnel. The Colts won the 1968 NFL Championship and Super Bowl V over the Dallas Cowboys.
