The Miami Marlins acquired pitcher Stephen Tarpley from the New York Yankees for third baseman James Nelson. Tarpley was traded to the Yankees by the Pittsburgh Pirates back in August 2016 for pitcher Ivan Nova.
He pitched in 21 games for the Yankees during the 2019 season. Tarpley had a 1-0 record with a 6.93 earned-run-average in 24 2/3 innings.
