2023 NHL General Manager Meetings

The National Hockey League held the Spring 2023 general manager meetings over the past three days at Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa in Manalapan. The 32 NHL general managers met for the second straight year at that venue.
Some of the items spoken about between the general managers included use of expanded video review on pucks sent out-of-play and high sticking. They also spoke about cutting down of penalties for instigating following clean body hits. There will be no changes to come out from these meetings.
NHL commissioner Gary Bettman mentioned today that the salary cap may go up to $1 million to $83.5 million. Game broadcasts will continue on regional sports networks in 2022-23 through the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Bettman spoke that the current divisional playoff format will stay the same and not switched to a traditional format #1 seed versus #8 seed matchup. He did not expect the NHL to have expansion in the near future and that new ownership of the Ottawa Senators will be decided soon.
