Panthers Overcome Blackhawks

     The Florida Panthers came back on the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3 in overtime on Friday night at FLA Live Arena. The Panthers are in the middle of a seven-game homestand. The Blackhawks entered the game with the second-worst record in the National Hockey League. 
     Chicago(22-37-6) scooted out to a 1-0 lead at 6:49 of the first period. Caleb Jones got his third goal of the year on assists from Taylor Raddysh and Tyler Johnson. Boris Katchouk picked up his third goal with 2:57 remaining in the first to make it 2-0. 
     Florida(33-27-6) scored two goals in a 29-second span during the third period. Eetu Luostarinen pushed the puck from the right corner to the end wall. Matthew Tkachuk skated with it to the right goal line, connected a cross-ice pass and Sam Bennett scored his 16th goal of the season on a forehand shot from the left of the crease at the 8:29 mark. 
     The Panthers tied it up 2-2 on the power play at 8:58 of the third. Sam Reinhart found the net for the 22nd time this season. Tkachuk and Brandon Montour were credited with assists on the play. 
     The Cats got ahead for the first time of the contest with 7:18 left. Tkachuk centered the puck from the left wing and Luostarinen snapped a high shot from the high slot by Petr Mrazek for his 16th goal of the campaign. 
     The Blackhawks pulled their goalie for an extra attacker and scored with 44.8 seconds to go to even it up 3-3. Jujhar Khaira poked the puck from the top of the crease and Cole Guttman swept a backhand shot by Sergei Bobrovsky for his fourth goal this year. 
     In overtime, Florida would take it with 2:17 left. Carter Verhaeghe angled a pass from the left wing. Aleksander Barkov advanced the puck ahead and Montour batted the puck into the cage with a backhand shot for the victory.
