Peterson played with the Blanche Ely Tigers in high school and LSU in college football prior to his arrival in the National Football League. He was drafted in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals and stayed there for ten seasons. Peterson was with the Minnesota Vikings in 2021 and 2022. He has 34 career interceptions in 184 NFL contests.
