Knicks Hold Off Heat

     The New York Knicks batted down the Miami Heat 101-92 at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night. The Heat, who have lost three straight contests, is in seventh place in the Eastern Conference. The Knicks, who are fifth in the conference looks like they will avoid the play-in format. 
     New York(44-33) put in the first eight points of the contest, however Miami (40-37) scored 14 consecutive points. The Heat held a 23-19 advantage at the end of the first quarter. Jalen Brunson hit a three-point shot at the buzzer to end the second quarters and the Knickerbockers were up 48-46.    
     Numerous lead changes happened in the second half as both teams were tied 76-76 after three quarters. The Knicks went on a 12-1 spurt to go ahead 95-85 with 4:17 left in the fourth quarter.
     Gabe Vincent scored a team-high 21 points and Tyler Herro knocked in 16 points for the Heat. Jimmy Butler and Duncan Robinson both chalked up 12 points each. 
     Quentin Grimes poured in 23 points while Immanuel Quickley had a game-high 24 points for New York. Brunson and R.J. Barrett both contributed 12 points each.
