Inter Miami CF Tie FIFA World Club Cup Opener

     Inter Miami CF had their opening game in the 2025 FIFA World Club Cup at Hard Rock Stadium at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday night. The Herons tied Al Ahly FC 0-0 in the first contest of Group A. 

     It was the first FIFA World Club Cup contest to be played among 32 different teams from around the globe. The championship game will be held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on July 13. 

     There was no scoring in the first half of play. The biggest chance for Al Ahly was when Herons goalkeeper Oscar Ustari made a save on a penalty kick.  

     Inter Miami CF had opportunity to take a 1-0 lead in the 85th minute. Lionel Messi fed a crossing pass from the left side and Fafa Picault one-hopped a header from seven yards away over the crossbar.
