Lionel Messi & Inter Miami CF Tops FC Porto

     Inter Miami CF surpassed FC Porto 2-1 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Thursday. It was the second game for the Herons in Group A of the 2025 Club World Cup. Inter Miami CF now has a 1-0-1 record in group play and will face Palmeiras on Monday for first place in Group A. 

     FC Porto jumped out to a 1-0 lead during the eighth minute of play. Samu Aghehowa placed in a penalty kick to the bottom left corner of the net. 

     Inter Miami CF tied it up 1-1 early in the second half. Telasco Segovia was able to score on a right-footed shot from 10 yards away in the 47th minute. 

     The Herons leaped to a 2-1 advantage in the 54th minute. Lionel Messi took a 23-yard direct kick with his left foot and angled it into the top right corner of the cage.
